I am a big fan of Georgia Anne Muldrow. She has a style all her own. Here is the lead single from the upcoming album "Early" called "Run Away" available November 10th on CD, Vinyl, and Digital formats. Absolutely can't wait to get my hands on this. This video and song is hotness!

One of my favorite djs Benji B from 1Xtra Radio gets interviewed by good friend and fellow music lover Paula from Groove Parlor TV (www.grooveparlortv.com).

Seattle based singer/songwriter Choklate returns with a new album release entitled "To Whom It May Concern." No sophomore blues here, Choklate's latest cd shows the world why she is an artist to watch out for. Highlight selections include "Suns Out," "Grown Folk," "To Whom It May Concern," "One a Y'all," "No Answer," "The Blues," & "6.8 Billion." Pick up a copy of this album today and make sure you also pick up Choklate's self-titled debut album if you haven't already.

Daru has been a favorite of mine ever since I came across a music compilation of his on myspace about two years ago. An accomplished drummer and beatmaker, he has a sound that is raw, funky, and very soulful. His self-described sound- "soul-hop" is a mixture of hip hop & soul.

He has played live drums, produced, and/or did remixes for many artists including Slum Village, Black Milk, Hi-Tek & Talib Kweli, Kissey Asplund, Tableek of Maspyke, Reggie B, & Rena.

If you haven't been checking for Daru (Daru Beats), make sure you do so soon. Take it from me this brother is an artist/producer definitely to watch out for.

Above is a video featuring Daru and his sister Rena with this very hot tune called "ILuvYou."

As with any artists we play on the show or feature on this site, make sure you support them by purchasing their music and by catching them live.

Welcome to the "Groove Talk" section of our new website. Here we will talk about music, life, & whatever. We may even post some videos and free musical goodies from time to time, so please check back often.

When I started this show a couple of years ago, I had no idea that the response would be as great as it has been. There is nothing like receiving emails from soldiers based in Iraq or from a fans in Japan or New Zealand whom appreciate the show. Though we are all far apart physically by distance, we are brought closer together because of the internet and through our love of music-- good music. I firmly believe that music transcends race or language. The drums and sonic textures of music speaks to us all whether it makes us happy, sad, angry, or just want to get up an "par-tay." Music brings people together.

I want to send shouts and thank you's to a DJ Come of Age, Stephanie Renee (Soul Sanctuary Radio), Tracy of On the Verge, Tony Ozier and Neno, Matt at Soul Discoveries, Kimani & Brandon (Solsource/CASRAM), Kokayi, Neil Conway, The Soul Controllers, DJ Trakklaya & Latin Prince (Bum Squad DJz), Tony Neal (Core DJs), Sylvain at Radio Laser 95.9 FM (Rennes, France), Monica & Djinji Brown (Yoruba Records), Eleonora (Ahead PR), Jessica (Spectra Ent.), DJ Scrap Dirty (Violator Management), Todd "Big La" Kelly (Flowink), DJ YZO (Soul Conversations - WPFW 89.3 FM), Terrance Averett(created the main Afternoon Groove Radio logo), DJ Jose G (Pre-Party Radio), Junior & Lil Dave (Eavesdrop Radio - WKDU 91.7 FM), Daru, Detrell & Pam (Onutts), Charles Anthony (Hustle Mode), Afi, Iman Williams, Marc Clay, Tuere, Lisa Zure, the Temper Twins, Song, Tula & Mo-rece, Jay Anthony, Anu Sun, Jua, Chandlar, Colonel Red, Domu, Yaw, Naijah Soul, Ayah, Gem Avery, Darrius Willrich, Sheila Ford, Charles Anthony (Hustle Mode Music), Terry Bello (International Soul Music Summitt), Femi, Giant Step Records, Wil Milton, DJ Sammy Rock (Cyberjamz Radio), EJ Flavors, Jay Rags (Black Books Cafe), DJ Chuck (HandzonRadio), Moon (Liberated Muse), Femi & Afta-1, Kenny Fresh at Fresh Selects, DJ Applejac, DJ Nerstylist, Chocolateville Radio, Butta (Soul Bounce), & all of the artists, djs, and music lovers around the world.
